Smartphone Predictions 2015 Report Predicts Higher Display Resolution and Selfies

Priceraja.com, an online price comparison and news website recently published a detailed report on Smartphone Predictions 2015. The report throws light on several core aspects of the expected trends for the upcoming year.

According to Smartphone Predictions 2015 report, 5 inch smartphones will be of great demand and is expected to have a share of 35.17% in 2015 compared to 29.17% in 2014.

While 4 inch display will have a substantial fall to mere 38% in 2015, 5.5 inch display will have a market share of around 9.53% in 2015.

Display Resolution plays an important role in smartphone selection. As per the report, demand for 1280×720 pixel display will touch 35.84% in 2015.

The Smartphone Predictions 2015 report further states that ir doesn’t anticipate any changes and the ultimate demand will be for a high resolution screen. This may be due to heavy usage of apps especially for shopping.

The camera segment will have a substantial change in 2015 as per the following trend.

  • 8 MP ->  35.90%
  • 13 MP -> 17.84%

The ultimate craze for selfies never ends among students and general public. The last two quarter of 2014 saw substantial increase of selfies in both print and digital media.

As per the report, nearly 40.61% of users demand smartphones with high end camera on the front for selfies in 2015. The demand will be for 5 MP front cameras as opposed to 0.3 MP in majority of phones sold in 2014.

According to the report, the demand for dual-core smartphones is expected to dip to 20.12% in 2015 when compared to 35.12% in 2014. The demand for Quad-core and Octa-core processors will see a marked increase in 2015.

According to Smartphone Predictions 2015 report, majority of smartphones will be powered with 1 GB of RAM in 2015 with an overall market share of 46.76%.

You can expect a sky rocket 93.47% of market share for Android based smartphones in 2015. The demand for Windows Phone will be there but it will be only 2.68%. These figures are mentioned on the PriceRaja report.

The battery of smartphones will have a capacity of 2000 mAh in 2015 with a market share of 47.22%. PriceRaja doesn’t anticipate any major changes. Many phones still ships with 1300-1700 mAh batteries.

According to Smartphone Predictions 2015 report, the demand for smartphones within 5000-10000 price range will be higher in 2015.
