Microsoft recently released Team Explorer Everywhere 2013 Update 2 with support for Eclipse 4.4 aka Luna, Java 8. The latest release also provides an ability to browse Git repository in team explorer.
It also includes support for overriding user configuration location and storing credentials for the command line client on Windows.
The TFS Java SDK has added new code snippets. It enable developers to create area paths and store credentials in the Windows credential manager.
Team Explorer Everywhere 2013 Update 2 enable developers to discover the Git repositories in a project from Team Explorer and then cloning/importing them.
You will be able to view a new Git Repositories button in Team Explorer when you are connected to a Git project on Team Foundation Server or Visual Studio Online
If you click the button it opens a new repository browsing view that shows all Git repositories in the connected project. In order to clone and import a repository, you need to right click and select Import Repository option
With the help of Team Explorer Everywhere 2013 Update 2, you will be able to control where configuration files, including connections, are stored. In order to override the default location, you should set the TEE_PROFILE_DIRECTORY environment variable before launching Eclipse.
As mentioned above, Team Explorer Everywhere 2013 Update 2 includes support for storing credentials for the command line client on Windows.
